During law school, she received a full academic scholarship and earned a CALI Award in Constitutional Law. She served as Senior Editor of the Law Review and Vice President of Operations for Moot Court, where she developed exceptional legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills. Her appellate advocacy work earned recognition in multiple competitions, including a Top 10 Brief award in the Wagner Moot Court Competition and a semifinalist finish with a second-place brief in the Orseck Moot Court Competition.
Ms. Thomas was personally selected by Bogle Law's founding attorney for the litigation skills, sound judgment, and courtroom confidence she developed while serving as an Assistant Public Defender for the 20th Judicial Circuit in Fort Myers and Punta Gorda. As an Assistant Public Defender, she handled a high-volume caseload and represented clients facing criminal charges through all phases of litigation, including jury trials, bench trials, contested evidentiary hearings, motions to suppress, motions to dismiss, competency proceedings, violation of probation hearings, and Stand Your Ground immunity motions. She also successfully argued matters resulting in judgments of acquittal based on insufficient evidence.
Today, Ms. Thomas represents clients in family law, criminal defense, and injunction proceedings. Her practice includes divorce, timesharing and parental responsibility disputes, child support matters, paternity actions, modifications, injunctions for protection, and criminal defense cases. She understands that many family law disputes involve overlapping allegations of domestic violence, injunction proceedings, and criminal charges, and she is uniquely equipped to address these interconnected legal issues through a coordinated and strategic approach.
Known for her exceptional legal research abilities and strategic case analysis, Ms. Thomas excels at identifying strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities within a case. She is highly skilled at developing litigation strategies that position her clients for success both in and out of the courtroom. She is known for moving cases forward efficiently, responding decisively to challenges, and pursuing every available legal avenue to achieve favorable outcomes. While she strives to resolve disputes when possible, she stands ready to take a case to trial whenever opposing parties are unwilling to act reasonably or settlement is not in her client's best interest.
Originally from New York, Ms. Thomas brings a bold, candid, and straightforward approach to the practice of law. Clients appreciate her honest assessments, direct communication style, and unwavering commitment to advocating for their interests. Whether negotiating a resolution or litigating in court, she combines practical advice with strong advocacy and meticulous preparation.
