Teodoro “Teo” Maldonado earned his Juris Doctor from Cooley Law School in Tampa Bay. He also holds a Master of Science in Business Management from Hodges University, with a focus on compliance and leadership, and a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural & Mechanical Technology from the University of Puerto Rico.
Before entering the legal profession, Teo built a career in the agricultural services sector, where he developed practical business, compliance, leadership, and project management experience. He was selected by the firm’s founding attorney for that unique background, as well as for the litigation and client-advocacy skills he developed while serving at the Public Defender’s Office.
As an Assistant Public Defender, Teo represented clients in misdemeanor criminal matters from arraignment through trial. His courtroom experience includes drafting and arguing motions, handling pretrial hearings, negotiating pleas, conducting mediations, preparing jury trials, and advocating for clients through all phases of criminal litigation.
Teo also has experience in civil practice areas, including contracts, wills and estates, family law, and criminal defense. He has assisted with pleadings, motions, discovery, legal research, settlement negotiations, hearings, and trial preparation.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Teo provides practical, client-focused representation grounded in strong courtroom advocacy, business experience, and a commitment to effective communication.
