In Florida, a couple must meet certain requirements in order to participate in an uncontested divorce. These include:
- agreement on broken marriage and desire uncontested divorce
- have no children under 18
- wife is not pregnant
- neither are seeking alimony
- agreement on division of property & debts
- one spouse has been living in FL for at least 6 months

If you and your spouse are going the uncontested divorce route and don't have children or significant assets you may be able to file the necessary documents and your divorce can be finalized outside of court.
How Long Does an Uncontested Divorce Take in Florida?
Generally, an uncontested divorce in Florida can be completed rather quickly compared to a contested divorce. If all of the mandated paperwork is submitted correctly and there are no substantial issues to be resolved, an uncontested divorce can be finalized in as little as a few weeks. However, it is important to keep in mind that the process could take longer if there are any complications or if the spouses are incapable of agreeing on particular issues like property division, spousal support, child custody, etc.
